Ian is extremely experienced in advising employers ranging from SMEs through to multi-national household names in respect of dismissals, discrimination, TUPE, redundancies, collective consultation and supporting companies through mergers and acquisitions. Ian also provides advice to independent HR advisors when tricky situations arise which are outside of the normal “day to day” HR issues.
Ian acts for employers in Employment Tribunal claims from the outset of litigation through to representation at the hearing.
Ian has run many training sessions for businesses of all sizes, as well as large groups of independent HR advisors. Ian’s training is informal, but informative: the aim is to ensure that people learn in an atmosphere which is enjoyable and allows people to ask questions in an open environment.
Ian will be discussing the issue of unfair dismissal.
David is an expert in business taxation working with corporate clients of various sizes and their owners.
After spending an initial few years obtaining a grounding in personal taxation, David is well positioned to provide holistic advice to business owners with 13 years of experience.
David will be focusing on how you may be able to save tax by claiming R&D tax credits having made many successful claims for his clients.

He will be talking about presentation skills along with how to network effectively.
Anna Lake is a freelance marketing consultant based in West Devon. She focuses on the relationship development aspect of marketing and has held in-house roles at Deloitte and BDO where she was responsible for developing the firms’ relationships with their clients, prospects and wider-stakeholders.
Anna’s talk will look at how to develop meaningful business relationships at each level of the ‘loyalty ladder’ which will help you both attract new customers and retain more existing clients.
Drew’s core employment foundations lay in the Education sector. As an Employment Engagement Officer he liaises with Businesses of all shapes and sizes to identify and fulfil their requirements through the implementation of both regulated and bespoke Training and Apprenticeships. Drew has a particular emphasis on developing links with Levy companies and has onboarded some of the Top 100 UK Businesses to support them in delivering their strategies across a variety of sectors from construction through to accountancy and beyond.
Drew will be discussing what apprenticeships are, how they work in relation to different sized businesses from micro to SME, large businesses and levy payers. He will also discuss how they are funded and the impact an apprentice can have on a business and supporting the economy in filling vital skills gaps.
