Why Nash & Co Solicitors
Nash & Co Solicitors gives you the opportunity to really establish your career with one of the top law firms in the area.
We’re looking for people whose ambitions match our own – to support each other, work collaboratively, exceed our own expectations and to ultimately offer the highest quality legal advice to our clients.
In return for your hard work, we offer the opportunity to tackle interesting and diverse work in a supportive and fast paced environment. We want people to develop their careers, to fulfil their true potential and to help us become the firm of choice across the region.
What we offer
We are looking for the best and brightest students and graduates who will grow with us and be core to the long term success of the firm. We know that not everyone wants the same thing from their career, so we offer new entrants to the law a variety of potential roles, from paralegal and trainee solicitor, to enable them to experience the law and to develop at a pace which suits them.
If you would value a conversation with one of our lawyers to better understand what life in a successful law firm is like, please contact Jo Arnold who would be more than happy to arrange a call for you with one of our lawyers.
Training & Career Development
When you have finished education, or decided to have a career change, it can be very difficult to decide what your future career should look like. There are so many options out there and making a choice which could impact the rest of your life can appear daunting.
For those who want to try law, we offer the opportunity to work with us as a paralegal to see if law is right for you. For those who know that their future lies with the law, we offer a variety of routes to formal qualification, including training contracts or the SQE to become a solicitor or ILEX to become a legal executive.
It is important to remember that training doesn’t finish once you have qualified, so we offer continuous professional development to all of our lawyers to ensure that we are always on top of the most recent developments and able to provide the best advice and service to our clients.
Stories of training to become a lawyer are full of nightmarish tales of hours at the photocopier. That is not our approach. Lawyers who train with us are expected to become fully involved with legal work from the very start of their time with us: we expect our trainee lawyers to be focused on becoming the best that they can be and to offer their views and opinions on the work being carried out by their team. We want you to be a great lawyer on qualification and we don’t believe that this can be achieved by performing hours of photocopying and filing.
Here at Nash & Co Solicitors, we all play a vital role in the firm’s success. Read our stories and find out what drives us to continue going above and beyond for our clients and to help grow the firm.
Plymouth is currently undergoing over £1 billion worth of development work. The city’s growing. Housing developments are springing up all over the area – from suburban townhouses, to luxury flats overlooking the city’s marinas. Plymouth has never been more popular.
Without doubt, we live and work in one of the most beautiful parts of the country. We absolutely love it here, but we can’t say it any better than one of our Partners, Ian Grimshaw who is Head of our Employment team.
“I’ve worked in modern office parks and in city centre blocks and had that feeling of just “existing”. From my office window, I look out to an Elizabethan harbour and then onwards to the sea. I will never take for granted having a great quality of work and working in an ambitious law firm, all whilst living by the sea and just fifteen minutes away from the expanse of Dartmoor and the Cornish coastline. Work life balance is an over-used phrase; however, at Nash & Co it really is bang on.”
