Will you be joining us on March 25th?

Thank you to everyone who has booked tickets so far for Devon and Cornwall’s new marketing conference – Building Brands. We’ve had a fantastic response following the launch and over the next month or so, we’ll be starting to release a lot more information about the event – our speakers, our sponsors and partners, and the additional benefits that those attending the conference will get.

Today, it’s the turn of our speaker profiles! We’re absolutely over the moon to have secured some fantastic speakers for the event – each of them are a real expert in their field, and you’ll hopefully learn a lot from them!

Howard Davies

Howard is a Co Founder of Salcombe Distilling Company, who make the internationally award winning Salcombe Gin and have the highly acclaimed Gin School at their Salcombe Distillery, attracting visitors from all around the UK. He has over 20 years of operations and business development experience across Management Consulting, Technology and Marine industries. In addition to his appreciation of fine spirits, when not working he is normally found on the water, satisfying his love for all watersports and the associate lifestyle that goes with it.  Given his passion for the ocean, he has a strong interest in marine conservation and over the past year has been busy implementing a range of green initiatives across Salcombe Distilling Company setting an example for others in the drinks industry to follow.

At Building Brands, Howard will be talking about Salcombe Gin’s brand development over the last few years – a situation where Salcombe Gin is now widely recognised as one of the top (if not THE top) gins available anywhere.

Lis is an experienced PR communications consultancy MD with over 20 years in the creative digital media industry spanning the communications mix including communications strategy, marketing communications, social media & stakeholder relations. She co-founded Bristol-based AMBITIOUS eight years ago, a PR communications consultancy specialising in working with clients operating in corporate & business to business sectors in the region & internationally.

She is both active & supportive of the industry she works in & outside of PR agency life is particularly interested in education. She serves as Board Director of creative industries network Bristol Media & is a Governor at City of Bristol College. She’s also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations & has received Outstanding Achievement accolades for her voluntary work across the South West region. 

Lis will be talking about Social Media for business, but also discussing the benefits, opportunities, challenges that Social Media Week brings to a City like Bristol, where she’s part of the driving force behind the Social Media Week team.

Matt, is a Designer, Creative Director and Green Dot Connector. Born and raised in Cornwall, he has been creating purpose in creativity and the environment since 2000. This was when he joined the Eden Project, heading up the graphics team for 3 years, before founding Leap in 2004.

Leap creates “Design for Change” – changing behaviours, for social, environmental and financial profit. As a result Matt and the Leap team have been recognised with numerous awards for sustainability. As well as achieving their proudest global award, B Corporation accreditation, and a Best for the World 2018 honouree, Matt is also a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.

Matt has also founded, and all redefining design for people, planet and profit.

Matt’s looking forward to talking at Building Brands, where he will be discussing purpose led creativity and the role it has to play.

James is a Digital Account Manager and essential cog in the Noisy Little Monkey machine. When James isn’t watching a Liverpool game, bouldering or doing backflips, he’s providing UX recommendations and optimising client’s conversion rates for B2B and legal services.  

In business speak, James creates and optimises inbound marketing campaigns that generate leads and drive revenue. In Noisy Little Monkey speak, James makes boring stuff sound awesome which makes his clients moolah.

Speaking of making boring stuff sound awesome, Noisy Little Monkey specialise in using the Inbound Marketing methodology to help your business sell more. James will be talking about Lead Generation, Lead Nurturing, and the funnel!

Andy is a journalist with over 30+ years’ experience in local, regional and national media, the past 23 years as an editor. Having started his career in newspapers, Andy moved into magazines seven years ago and now works as Editor of Devon Life, a luxury glossy county magazine, a role he combines with his work for his own company, Andy Cooper Words. He is also Editor of Exeter Life magazine and Group Editor for a series of county lifestyle magazines in the South West.

Andy has agreed to compere the event for us, so we look forward to him keeping all our speakers in check!
