Social Responsibility

Nash & Co has been working with business and people from around the area for the best part of 100 years; people just like us, who live and work here and who are proud of our wonderful ocean side home.

We put a lot of time and effort into our Social Responsibility here at Nash & Co Solicitors. We genuinely care about the people around us; not just because we think we need to do it in order to look good, but because we passionately believe in making a contribution. We live and work in the local community. And so for us, it’s vital that we play our part in supporting it.

Our Community Partners

Over the last 12 months, we’ve helped a number of charities and community groups in the area:

We have been long term supporters of St Luke's Hospice in Plymouth. They provide specialist advice and support to people with progressive life-limiting illnesses in Plymouth, South West Devon and East Cornwall. They treat patients at home, in hospital and in their incredible Hospice in Turnchapel.

Shekinah provides opportunities for people in recovery or seeking recovery. This may include recovery from homelessness, drug and alcohol issues, offending behaviours or mental ill health. They offer support with housing, drug and alcohol advice, benefit advice, training, education, employment or just a listening ear.

Children's Hospice South West do an incredible job in extremely difficult situations. They provide palliative, respite, end of life and bereavement care for life-limited and terminally ill children and their families from the South West. We never cease to be amazed how incredible the CHSW staff are - they are just wonderful people doing an incredible job across 3 different hospices in the SW.

Plymouth Domestic Abuse Services, provide practical, non-judgemental support, advice and protection for all victims of domestic abuse. They offer a wide range of help to individuals and families in the Plymouth area, including confidential advice, one-to-one and group support sessions, and a refuge. We support their message that everyone has the right to feel safe.

Trevi aims to provide safe and nurturing spaces where women and their children can heal, grow and thrive.  They use the experience, influence and expertise of those we support to improve the response to women in recovery.  This includes recovery from childhood trauma, addiction, mental ill health, criminogenic behaviours and domestic abuse.

Luna's Fund is run by Aimee & Ryan Conroy, who created the charity in memory of their daughter Luna who was born sleeping in 2017. The charity offers an array of services for families to use, in order to create new memories & to help them start to look forward to their future. They're both incredible people and have helped so many families.

Social responsibility, is very important to us as a firm. When we’ve made donations or sponsored the above charities, for us, it’s not just been a matter of handing over money. We want to get involved with them as much as we can. We want to support them, help them and our staff are great at doing this. From packing bags and envelopes, to helping in their offices, and jumping out of planes, running marathons, half marathons and 10k events. We’ve even been known to indulge in a few cake sales and quiz nights in order to help them!

“The support our charity has from the business community is outstanding. Nash & Co Solicitors contribute to St Luke’s throughout the year in such incredibly generous ways. From sponsorship of our flagship Midnight Walk event to raising vital funds at the Nash Bash and the annual Golf Day – you really go the extra mile. You’re all true ambassadors. Thank you.”

– Steve Statham, CEO, St Luke’s Hospice, Plymouth.

Plastic Free Plymouth

We also played a role in helping Plymouth achieve “Plastic Free” accreditation from Surfers Against Sewage. Having already made some  big strides regarding waste – recycling increasing dramatically, cutting out all non-essential use of single-use plastic, the use of water coolers and fixed drinking taps in the kitchen, together with the aims that we have for the future – we figured the drive to make Plymouth plastic free, was definitely something that we wanted to be a part of.
